Don’t Be Anxious

Stressed out, worried about something, have high anxiety, nervous about an event?  All of these things can lead to weight gain.  When we are stress our bodies by worrying or being nervous we cause our bodies to build cortisol.  What is cortisol?  Cortisol is the “stress hormone.”  When your body has to much cortisol there is a loss of muscle and we gain more belly fat.

The definition of anxious is: experiencing worry, unease, or nervousness, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

What does the bible tell us about being anxious?  Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) states, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Any and everything that is stressing us out, we need to prayer about and leave it with God so we can receive His peace.

Exercise and Weight Loss Ministry

Being in good health saves us money and allows God to use us in other areas.  If you started walking today and on your walk you ended up ministering to someone, wouldn’t that make you feel good?  What if you lead the person to Christ.  How would that make you feel?

Now what would have happened if you would have decided, “I’m going to start tomorrow.”  You would have missed out on your opportunity to minister to someone that was on your path that day.  Look at exercise and losing weight as a ministry.  The more you are out and the more weight you lose the more people will talk to you and now the door is opened for you to minister to them.

Renewed Mind. New Year

When we decide to lose weight, one of the things we must do is change the way we think. There are times where we think we can’t eat healthy food (because we want something fried, sweet or unhealthy) or we don’t have time to exercise.

Changing the way we think about the food we eat and exercise isn’t an easy task but with God we can do all things.  If you begin to crave a candy bar, chips, ice cream or anything unhealthy ask God for help to get through the craving.   Cravings can last up to 30 minutes or longer.

 Remember, all things are possible with God. Power up your day!
