Jesus spoke to them: “Good morning! Did you catch anything for breakfast?” They answered, “No.”
He said, “Throw the net off the right side of the boat and see what happens.”
They did what he said. All of a sudden there were so many fish in it, they weren’t strong enough to pull it in. Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Master!”
When Simon Peter realized that it was the Master, he threw on some clothes, for he was stripped for work, and dove into the sea. The other disciples came in by boat for they weren’t far from land, a hundred yards or so, pulling along the net full of fish. When they got out of the boat, they saw a fire laid, with fish and bread cooking on it. ~ John 21 :5-9
What I’m Really Saying is…
I’ve said good morning at least 7 times already today.
It is the usual greeting. I’m sure once I get on my Facebook page, I will day ‘good morning’ at least five more times. And I’m already outside, so I’m sure I’ll be greeting a few strangers as well.
So why is it that today, saying ‘Good Morning’ feels different to me? It is because I want those words to be more than a habit.
The purpose of this blog has always come back to these same four words : Don’t Wake Up Worrying. That means, that no matter how situations may look, let’s expect and have a good morning!
Jesus greets his disciples with a good morning. Notice what else this passage lets us know.
- Don’t stop working on your goals because of past disappointments
- Be mindful to listen to God’s instructions for your day. He is strategic!
- Keep positive people in your circle. When the disciples needed help, the right people were there willing to jump in and fulfill purpose. Are the people around you willing to let your ‘net break’ while you are pulling in the big haul?
Good Morning! Enjoy your coffee and Power up Your Day!
